    The Bankruptcy Manager is assigned a team of Bankruptcy Specialists in our Dallas Operations call center. Their main task is to supervise the bankruptcy activities by hiring, training, motivating and monitoring the identified team, and establishing partnerships with other key players such: as the General Managers, Inspection Centers, Loan Servicing team, and Legal.

      

    They work with bankruptcy specialists and oversee a large pool of accounts in a Bankruptcy status. Monitors the routing, process, negotiations, and security of documentation; as well as, payments on delinquent Bankruptcy accounts.

    Responsibilities

    Our Bankruptcy Manager is responsible for leading a team of Bankruptcy Specialists to success. This includes, but not limited to: assessing day to day performance, quality of work, and goal setting. Our Managers are responsible for providing feedback and coaching to develop our Bankruptcy Specialists in order to reach their highest potential in their current role and to help further develop their career with DriveTime.

    • Monitors routing and account flow of bankruptcy accounts
    • Provide daily goals and strategy to their team that will maximize long-term success.
    • Must have effective communication, both verbal and written.
    • Negotiates with Trustees and Attorneys, as well as interacts with customers
    • Have strong analytical and problem solving skills, able to make sound business decisions, and use good judgment in relation to the handling of bankruptcy accounts.
    • Create and/or enhance process flow for bankruptcy accounts including but not limited to Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 accounts
    • Demonstrate good verbal communication, organizational skills, negotiations and leadership skills
    • Work with legal and compliance to update, maintain and execute Bankruptcy policies and procedures
    • Provide guidance and training in bankruptcy related areas to all Bankruptcy Specialists
    • Identifies and recommends methods to improve management and operations of Bankruptcy administration involving enhanced work processes, increased responsiveness, efficient use of resources and quality service delivery.
    • Recruit, screen, interview, hire, and develop successful Bankruptcy Specialists
    • Provide proactive leadership to the team to achieve maximum performance that results in a method consistent with DriveTime's vision and values.
    • Evaluate job performance and give timely, consistent feedback and training as appropriate, based on observations of performance and behavior and the review of performance statistics. 
    • Implement and execute any company-wide training initiatives as directed. Conduct knowledge checks to ensure understanding of training. Complete and conduct semi-annual performance evaluations for direct reports.

    Qualifications

    • High School Degree Required. Bachelor's Degree preferred
    • 2+ years of management experience in a call center or retail environment
    • Knowledge of Fair Debt Collection Practices Act is a plus
    • Excellent written, verbal communication and listening skills required
    • Ability to interact with customers, managers, and co-workers in a professional, courteous manner
    • Must be self-motivated with strong decision making and problem solving abilities.
    • Skilled with PC and Microsoft Operating Systems software, a variety of telephone equipment, including headset or handset
    • Ability to work cooperatively with other employees, customers, clients, and other involved parties
    • Required to work a flexible schedule including some evenings and Saturdays
